Find books in a Library


Books are arranged/ classified according to Dewey Decimal Classification system is called Call number. The Call numbers consist three parts, first part represents the class number (subject Number) of the book, second part represents the Book number (author and title indicator) of the book and third part represents the year of publication. The first three letters of author's sir name and first letter of title are taken for the book number.

Example:     510 SHAT Y2K21 means 

Class Number:        510 Mathematics

Book Number:        Sharma, Sanjay; Textbook of Mathematics

Year of Publication: 2021

There are 10 main classes of Dewey Decimal Classification System:


000    Computer Science, Information & General Works

100    Philosophy & Psychology

200    Religion

300    Social Sciences

400    Language

500    Science

600    Technology

700    Art & Recreation

800    Literature

900    History & Geography
